VERMONT ELECTRICIANS` LICENSING BOARD
REVIEW GUIDELINES

When license applications are reviewed by the board the following standards will be used as a guide.

TYPE-S JOURNEYMAN

Standard Equal
Completes recognized Training
Program plus l yr experience
Works under licensed person
for 2 yrs

JOURNEYMAN

Standard Equal
Completed Vermont State
Apprenticeship of 576 hours
plus 8000 hours experience
under a license holder
Appropriate Military Schools
on an equivalent hourly basis
plus 8000 hours experience
under a license holder
   
IBEW Apprenticeship 576 hours
plus 8000 hours experience
under a license holder

Appropriate Vocational or
Trade Schools on an
equivalent hourly basis
plus 8000 hours experience
under a license holder
   
  OR 12,000 hours documented
relevant experience

MASTER

Standard Equal
Licensed as and working as a Journeyman
for 2 years, must have documented relevant
experience.
Journeyman standards met
plus 4000 hours documented relevant
experience.
   
[Examination] [Examination]

 

All applications to be reviewed by the Board, with in-depth review given to applications not meeting the license review guideline.
