Long Range Goal - Identify relevant quality indicators by 2010.

The EMS Executive Director is studying alternate ways to establish an EMS reporting system. A system of a reporting personal computer in each squad's headquarters is expensive and unfeasible. Even with unlimited funds that type of system would not work because some squads work from members' homes. One alternative is an emergency room based system. As funds become available and solutions are found, we will move toward our goal. The TEA-21 §411 funds are one of the sources we are planning to use to address this need.

As we work toward our goal, other events are taking place in Emergency Medical Services with the support of Highway Safety. Yearly the EMS conference provides a training forum for approximately 800 EMS providers. Without Highway Safety support, the quality of the conference trainers would be lessened and fewer non-profit displayers would be able to attend and provide their unique information to attendees.
