The majority of these grant funds $3,483,000 will be used to
acquire emergency response equipment by state and local response
organizations. The local share (80%) will be $ 2,786,400 and the
state share (20%) will be $696,600. The grant guidance does not
indicate a required allocation between state and local organizations
for the planning, training, and exercise portions of this grant.
The local portions will be distributed to jurisdictions contained
within the appropriate Terrorism District. The HSU has allocated
the planning, training, and exercise portions in the following
manner:

The Homeland
Security Unit (HSU) has approved planning sub-grants that total
$1,500,000 and exercise sub-grants totaling $696,800 based on
proposals fromJanuary 17, 2004. The effective start date for all
planning/exercise sub-grants will be March 1, 2004.
