Vermont
Preparedness - Homeland Security Unit
The
Vermont Department of Public Safety Homeland Security Unit has
been developed to enhance public safety by promoting a coordinated
terrorism response among Vermont's emergency response agencies.
The
Homeland Security Unit has been charged with four critical missions:
- State, regional and local terrorism response planning
- The gathering, evaluation and dissemination of terrorism intelligence
information
- The coordination of state and federal terrorism response
training
- The management and administration of federal terrorism grants
The
Homeland Security Unit is located at State Police Headquarters
in Waterbury. It is currently made up of a unit supervisor, two
terrorism training/outreach coordinators, three planners, two
grant administrators, an intelligence analyst and an administrative
assistant.
