Northeast States Emergency Consortium
The Northeast States Emergency Consortium (NESEC) is seeking nominations for the Thirteenth Annual Emergency Manager of the Year Award. The NESEC 2010 Emergency Manager of the Year Award Program will honor an individual from Vermont and seven other individuals, one from each NESEC State, who have made outstanding contributions in the field of emergency management during calendar year 2009. The Emergency Manager of the Year Award program is committed to recognizing individuals who have exhibited the highest standard of excellence, dedication, and accomplishment in the field of emergency management. We are very interested in nominees whose efforts in disaster preparedness, mitigation, response or recovery have resulted in or will result in savings of life, injury or property in time of disaster or emergency. Nominees for the awards will be drawn from the entire emergency management community in the Vermont and the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, and Rhode Island. Nominations should be sent to Vermont Emergency Management, attention Barbara Farr, at the address below by 4 pm on March 15, 2010. All nominees will be evaluated by a select committee. The awards will be announced at a NESEC Board Meeting or other suitable venues within each state. Nominations are encouraged from all levels of emergency management including local, state, tribal and federal government, as well as non-profit organizations, businesses, private citizens and volunteers.
