EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ASSISTANCE COMPACT

Vermont became one of the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) partners this year. Forty-eight states and two territories have adopted EMAC to enable mutual aid support during times of emergencies.

EMAC allows for a quick response to disasters using unique resources and expertise possessed by member states.

EMAC DEPLOYMENTS

April, 2009 - Two Vermont Emergency Management staff members to Minnesota to assist with flood response.

Resources could be any of the following and more:

  • Fire Suppression
  • ICS trained personnel to provide assistance to the EOCs
  • Equipment
  • EMS staff
