Purpose: To improve elected officials knowledge of their roles and responsibilities in disaster response.
Scope: On January 28, 2007, from 11:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., PSD B will conduct a TTX focused on improving elected official disaster readiness within PSD B. Suggested participants include:
18. Citizen Advisory Board
19. Elected Officials
20. Emergency Managers
21. Trustees
22. Vermont Emergency Management
23. Vermont State Police
• Objectives: The following were determined:
8. Increase elected officials’ knowledge of their statutory responsibilities in a disaster
9. Review the local disaster declaration process
10. Educate elected officials on mutual aid agreements
11. Increase elected official familiarity with their Rapid Response Plan
12. Review information sharing mechanisms and structures
13. Improve elected official familiarity with NIMS and ICS
