Centers for Vermont Yankee's 10-Mile EPZ
A
reception center is available if you are asked to evacuate. The reception
center for your area is outside the 10-mile Emergency Planning Zone.
The
primary reception center for Vermont is Bellows Falls Union High School.
The Vermont Reception Center is operated by the State in cooperation
with the town of Westminster, neighboring towns, and the American Red
Cross.
At
the Center you will receive the assistance you need, for example:
food, cots, first aid, or possible medical referral assistance.
You and members of your family will be reunited at the Center.
Pets, firearms, illegal drugs, or alcohol are not permitted inside
the Center. However, every attempt will be made to help you with
your pet outside the Center. Click on either of the maps
on this page to see a full size version of it.
An additional reception center is being planned
in Vermont to the West. Information about this center, once it
is implemented, will be provided in news advisories and on this
web site.
