Why do I need to register
my alarm?
It is important that the
VSP have accurate information regarding alarm holders expecting VSP
response, including the property owners mailing address, directions
to the property and alarm company information. This allows the VSP to
work closely with the property owner in the event of a false alarm.
How do I register my
alarm?
By filling out the Registration
Form provided.
What is the cost to
register my alarm?
There is an annual registration
fee of $50.00.

What is a false alarm?
A false alarm is defined
as the notification to the VSP by electronic or telephonic means that
an emergency situation exists, when an emergency or circumstances that
could be perceived as an emergency do not exist.
How do I know that
I had a false alarm if I wasn’t home?
The VSP will send you written
notification of any false alarms to the mailing addresses provided on
your alarm registration form.
What is the cost for
a false alarm?
Fees for false alarms are
based on a one year period of time. You are allowed one (1) free false
alarm at no cost. The second false alarm received during the same year
will be assessed a fee of $50.00 and the third false alarm is $75.00.
All false alarm fees must be paid within thirty (30) days of the invoice
date to avoid being placed in non-response mode.
What happens if I have
three or more false alarms in a year?
After three (3) false alarms
per calendar year, your alarm will be placed in non-response mode. Should
you wish to have the Vermont State Police begin responding again, you
must comply with our reinstatement policy. Your alarm will remain in
non-response mode until compliance with the reinstatement policy is
met.

If my alarm is currently
