INCIDENT: Burglary

DATE/TIME: 10/01/09- 10/02/09 / between 1730 and 0700 hours

LOCATION: United States Post Office 354 Main Street, Warren, VT

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 10/02/09 The Vermont State Police responded to the Warren Post Office located on Main St. in Warren Village to investigate a burglary which occurred sometime during the night. It was determined that access to the building had been gained.

Police discovered an opened window located on the backside of the building. This window had been forcibly opened. The interior of the building had been rummaged through and an attempt had been made to open a large floor safe. An Inspector from the United States Postal Service was also called to the scene. Because the post office is a federal agency potential federal charges may be filed when the perpetrator is identified.

Police are seeking leads into this incident.
