SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:  

On October 6, 2009, Vermont State Troopers were called to the Border Motel, 3004 US Rte 5 in Derby, for a disruptive and threatening female.  US Border Patrol Agents also arrived on scene to assist.  Troopers approached Roya Karimian, 49, of Alexandria, VA, who was screaming profanities and threats at Motel staff and Troopers.  While being interviewed Karimian struck a Trooper and was subsequently taken into custody.  

She was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer. Karimian was lodged at Northern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $2000 cash or surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Orleans County Court on October 13, 2009.
