Incident: Underage Drinking Party

Location: Merck Forest, off Vermont Route 315, Rupert

On October 16, 2009, State Police received a report of an underage drinking party at a cabin within the Merck Forest, off Route 315, in Rupert.  The cabin was reportedly two miles from the roadway.
 
The State Police, Bennington County Sheriff’s Office, and Rupert Constable, Erwin Tobin, made the trip to the cabin.  Along the way they located a group of youths under 21 years old on their way to the cabin.  At the cabin they located around 30 individuals within in and around the cabin.
 
Several people were issued civil tickets for consuming alcohol while under 21 years old.  No criminal violations for consuming while younger than 21 years old were issued.
