FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Poultney, Vermont
DESCRIPTION OF VEHICLE: 2000 Dodge Intrepid
DAMAGE TO VEHICLE: Total

WEATHER: Clear and Cold

INJURIES: Fatality

ROAD COND: Dry

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 10-17-09 at 0421 hours Troopers based out of the Rutland/Castleton Barracks
responded to a one vehicle motor vehicle crash on VT Route 30.

Upon arrival it was determined this collision involved a single vehicle.  The
vehicle was traveling north on Route 30, when it exited the roadway.  Once off
the roadway the vehicle collided with several trees located off the east side of
VT Route 30.  The lone male occupant, who was identified as a John M. Skovira
was ejected from the vehicle.  Skovira was pronounced dead at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation at this time.  Anyone with information
pertaining to this collision is asked to contact Trooper Christopher Barber,
