SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On October 23, 2009 at approximately 2154 hours the Montpelier Fire Department was dispatched to 4 Crestview Drive Montpelier, VT for a reported house fire. The Montpelier Fire Department requested assistance from the Barre City, East Montpelier, Berlin, and Middlesex Fire Departments. The Montpelier and Barre City Fire Department aggressively attacked the fire and extinguished it quickly. The Montpelier Deputy Fire Chief requested an origin and cause investigation. Members from the Vermont State Police Fire Unit and Division of Fire Safety responded to the scene.

The investigation showed the cause of this fire to be undetermined, not suspicious. There were no serious injuries reported as a result of this fire. However the home owner was treated for smoke inhalation. Two cats were lost due to the fire.
