SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 09/27/2009 the Ronald McDonald House Charity Box was stolen from the McDonald's in Enosburg.  The Charity Box was stolen from under the drive-thru window.  Once this theft was realized the Restaurant reported it to the State Police in St. Albans.  Employees at the restaurant were able to review security film from the night prior and discovered they had the incident on film.

After reviewing the film, Police were able to obtain a license plate from the vehicle and also film of the operator stealing the lock box. The operator was of the vehicle identified as Megan Porter (23) of Fairfield. The passenger was identified as Porter's mother, Tonya Lambert (39) of Franklin.

On the surveillance video Porter can be seen looking around the drive thru for cameras and speaking to her mother before taking the lock box.  Porter is then seen taking the lock box from under the drive-thru window and handing it to Lambert to put under the passenger side seat.  Once the employee came back to the window, Porter and Lambert retrieved their food and drove away.

When asked, both women stated they knew that the Ronald McDonald House provided affordable housing to needy families while their children are hospitalized.  
Statements obtained from the suspects revealed that, Porter and Lambert made
away with approximately $15 in change.
