11/5/09 - UPDATED INFORMATION ON ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION

The Vermont State Police have spoken with the individual who honked their horn to intervene in the attempted abduction that occurred at the Shopping Center Parking Lot in Bradford on October 25th.  The witness came forward to provide information regarding the incident which he witnessed.  As a result of an on-going investigation, the witness’s name and information that was provided is being withheld.
 
The State Police are still looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the event or seen suspicious persons or activity in the area of the attempted abduction. Anyone with information should call the Vermont State Police Bradford Barracks at 802-222-4680.  

10/29/09 - UPDATED INFORMATION/VERIFICATION:

The Vermont State Police have identified the male subject seen in the surveillance footage near the reported incident below.  This individual is cooperating with the investigation.  Police have not concluded their findings in this case and would still like to talk with the individual(s) who intervened by honking their horn near the scene of the incident and any other witnesses who were present in the parking lot that evening.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:  

On 10/28/09 Vermont State Police in Bradford received a report of an incident that occurred on 10/25/09 between 5:30 PM and 5:45PM.  At that time a 16 yr old female entered a local retail establishment and was followed around the store by an unidentified male.  Upon exiting the store and while placing her purchases in her vehicle, the female was grabbed by her upper arm and tugged in the direction of the unidentified males vehicle.  Another vehicle, parked behind the victim, intervened by honking their horn and driving toward the male.  The male released his grip and left the area in a dark colored, possibly green, Jeep Cherokee with an unknown registration.
 
Vermont State Police in Bradford are attempting to identify the male in the attached photo.  He is described as being approximately 5’10” tall, thin, with a long dirty blonde hair, worn in a pony tail.  He has a short beard and mustache.  He was wearing a brown sweatshirt with jeans.
 
The State Police would also like to speak to the individual or individuals who intervened in the incident by honking their horn.
