With the use of DNA the victim of this fire was positively identified as Candace A. McGrath.

LOCATION (specific):  690 North Windsor St. South Royalton Vermont

VICTIM: Unknown at this time.  

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT

On 10-16-09 the South Royalton and Bethel Fire Departments responded to a fire at 690 North Windsor St. in South Royalton.  The residence is a trailer on the eastern side of the road and is approximately .6 miles north of the village.    

It was determined that there was a deceased person inside the trailer and members of the Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Vermont State Police Arson Unit, and Investigators from the Division of Fire Safety responded to the scene.    

The Arson Unit and the Division of Fire Safety have determined that the cause of the fire is not suspicious.  
 
The investigation into cause of death and the identity of the victim is continuing and is pending autopsy.
